Summer @ St. Bart's offers something for everyone ages 3 to 13. Swim every day in our full-sized pool with certified lifeguards and swim instructors. Tennis, soccer, baseball, hockey, volleyball and track and field played throughout the summer in our 2600 sq. ft. gym or at the Roosevelt Island sports fields. SUMMER AT ST. BART'S 2012 

Not every kid wants the same kind of camp, and we want happy campers! That’s why St. Bart’s is offering FOUR options that include swim every day. Each camp caters to a different age and a different kind of kid!

 

TINY TOT'S AT ST. BART'S

 3 – 3.11 years old • June 11th-August 24th   (11 weeks)

This camp offers the little ones a shorter day yet a full camp experience from 9am to 1pm. The Tiny Tot’s program includes Instructional Swim, Sports, Dance and Movement in combination with Drama, Arts and Crafts, Rooftop play, and a mid-morning snack. All activities occur on a daily basis. (A lunch period is provided between 12:20 and 1pm.)

 

ST. BART'S SUMMER CAMP

4 - 7 years old • June 11th-August 24th   (11 weeks)

*Groups are broken down by age*

Group 2: 4 -5.5 year olds

Group 3: 5.5- 6.11 year olds

 This camp offers a half-day program for 4 and 5 year olds until 1 pm, and a full day program until 3:00 for 4-7 year olds. After camp is available Monday-Thursday from 3-5:30pm. Swimming, Arts and Crafts, Dance and Movement, Drama, Karate, Rooftop play and weekly themes are included in this program.

 

ADVENTURE CAMP

 7-13 years old • July 2nd - August 24th (8 weeks)

 Camp is more fun with a little adventure! Twice a week, campers will explore an educational or recreational site around the city. Tuesday’s and Thursday’s are reserved for trips to places like the NY Hall of Science, a Yankees Game, Sony Wonder Lab, the Circle Line Shark boat ride, the Intrepid, etc. Walking and public transportation will be utilized whenever possible and a private bus service will be used for extended trips.  On Monday’s, Wednesday, and Fridays, the campers will be engulfed in activities such as comic book writing, painting, sculpting, collage and mosaic making, necklace/jewelry making, and other various art activities. Campers will participate in Dance, Sports, Arts and Craft’s and Swim in the mornings and participate in karate and drama in the afternoons.

 A game room provides plenty of entertainment, like ping - pong, knock hockey, foosball, board games, etc. 

 

ISLAND SPORTS

 7-13 years old • July 2nd- August 24th (8 weeks)

Each day begins with swimming at St. Bart’s. Counselors then escort the campers via private bus to Roosevelt Island, where they will play Soccer, Softball, Flag Football, Ultimate Frisbee, Kickball or other sports on the grassy fields. Lunch may be catered for an extra fee, or campers can bring their own lunch. After lunch, a one- hour group tennis lesson will take place on one of Roosevelt Island Racquet Club’s indoor courts. The trip back to St. Bart’s will be followed by activities in our gym or game room.  If it rains, the campers will stay at St Bart’s, participating in various activities. The bus would then pick them up in the afternoon and bring them over to the field for tennis lessons at the Racquet Club.

Thursdays are reserved for special field trips. Our special trips include a Yankees Game, Circle Line Shark boat ride, bowling, The Intrepid, etc. For more details, please contact .


PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Swimming: All children participate in our instructional swim program five days a week. Each 40-minute lesson includes a period of free swim. For younger children, the swim staff utilizes “tot dock”, while older, more experienced swimmers utilize the deep end. Certified Lifeguards and Swim Instructors are always present and led by an Aquatics Director.  Our swim staff is specialized in working with children of all ages and levels.

Sports: Daily sports instruction is offered in our 2600 square foot gym. Tennis, soccer, baseball, basketball, hockey, volleyball, track and field, and relay races will be the sports played throughout the summer. Emphasis is on fitness and the development of skills as well as teaching sportsmanship through daily drills and games.

Dance and Movement: In our dance studio, campers will have the opportunity to learn many styles of movement including hip-hop, jazz, tap, yoga, and musical drama. 

Arts and Crafts: Arts and Craft activities are part of the daily curriculum and based on our theme of the week.

Karate: Karate is offered to children ages 5 and up in our Karate studio located in St. Bart's. Learn discipline and self control with our Karate instructor, Sensai Robert.

Drama: Offered to all ages, Drama it is a good way for campers to express themselves in a fun, creative environment. A summer performance to be scheduled.

Weekly Themes: Each week has a special event to go with our weekly theme. For example, during Circus Week, a clown visits and puts on a special show. Farm week includes a visit from the animals from The Art Farm. (If interested in more information on our Weekly Themes, please email

Lunch: Café St. Bart’s chef will be preparing an optional hot lunch for campers at an additional cost. Every late morning and afternoon, campers are provided with a snack. A lunch period is not included in the Tiny Tot’s program.
