EXPLORE is St. Bart's signature "get acquainted" class series, offered several times each year. Join Buddy Stallings and Lynn Sanders in exploring questions of faith and life in this popular, seasonal class series. All are welcome, newcomer and longer-timer alike, whether or not you have attended past sessions. Register with St. Bart's Central at 212-378-0222 or

HOMEPAGE Explore Galaxy 2We want every person who comes to St. Bart’s to feel genuinely and warmly welcomed, and we hope you will consider taking a closer look at membership in this parish. Whether you are brand new or have been attending for a period of time, even years,  we encourage you to attend our EXPLORE class series. It's a great way to learn (more) about St. Bart's and the Episcopal Church, and to meet others in the St. Bart's community.

Free child care is provided until 2pm for parents who take the EXPLORE class. We want to make it easy for parents to EXPLORE, too.

FAQs about EXPLORE

What if I can't attend every class in the series? No worries. Attend the ones you can, and catch up in the next EXPLORE series.

May I take EXPLORE classes again?   Sure! You can take EXPLORE as many times as you wish. Even if you've been here a while, new questions arise. Bring your questions and join us. All questions (and people) are welcome.

Do I need to sign up? It's helpful if you register with St. Bart's Central, but not necessary. Bring yourself, your questions, and a cup of coffee if you like.

Where are EXPLORE classes held?  EXPLORE classes are held in the Vestry Room, unless otherwise noted. You'll find the Vestry Room through the red curtains beside the pulpit, straight down the hallway, last room on your right.

Our Vicar Buddy Stallings, and Associate Rector Lynn Sanders lead this interactive and enjoyable class that features conversations about a particular Anglican/Episcopalian understanding of modern faith, specifics about the history and ministry of St. Bart’s, what it means to be a member of St. Bart's, and ways that you can consider greater involvement.

St. Bart’s draws people from a wide variety of backgrounds, and so we are marked by diverse interests and perspectives. This pluralism is reflected in an ever-increasing variety of opportunities not only for worship, but also for learning and service. We believe each of these emphases to be essential to the Christian life, growth, and ministry of each person.

If you decide to take the next step and move from being a welcomed guest to joining this community of St. Bart's, know that we are ready to welcome you as a member. How does that work? Check out our Welcome Sunday page!
