Welcome Ministries
Membership Workshop
Learn what it means to become a member of St. Bartholomew’s Church. This workshop explores the meaning of membership through the lens of the baptismal covenant, and also takes a closer look at what it means to be part of the Episcopal/Anglican Church.
Ushers and Greeters
Ushers and greeters form the front lines of St. Bart’s “radical welcome” hospitality ministry. Volunteers are welcome to train to become an usher or greeter at Sunday and weekly worship services, at coffee hour, and special events.
St. Bart’s Central
The center for all your questions, ticket purchases, program and event registration needs, this well-oiled machine is run by trained volunteers, and staffed seven days a week. You can be one too! Call or email to find out how (see number and email at bottom of this page).
Newcomer Follow-up
This is a wonderful way to contribute to the ever-widening circle of the church. Every three to six months, join a team of volunteers who welcome newcomers to the parish, invite them to upcoming events, and answer questions about the life of the church.
Book & Gift Shop
The shop in the church narthex offers an expertly-edited selection of current and hard-to-find titles on spiritual growth for seekers and believers alike, plus a wide array of gifts, icons, art and music. Open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., 365 days a year, and staffed by trained volunteers. Click here to visit the Book & Gift Shop online.
Tours
Explore St. Bartholomew's—a designated New York City landmark in the heart of midtown Manhattan. A free tour is offered at 12:15 p.m. on Sundays, following the 11 a.m. service. Special tours for groups may also be arranged.
Docents
These well-informed guides lead the tours of St. Bartholomew’s unique sacred space. Training for new volunteer docents is available.
For information or to register for courses and activities, call or email St. Bart’s Central at 212-378-0222 or central@stbarts.org.
