MEET THE 2012 STEWARDSHIP CO-CHAIRS

Stewardship is the recognition that all we have - our time, talents and treasure - are gifts from God, entrusted to us, with the responsibility to use these gifts for the betterment of humanity.  St. Bart's is able to fulfill its mission in the world only through the generous stewardship of its members and friends.

"As a cradle to [not yet] grave Episcopalian, pledging has always been a part of my life.  The last 10 years of my life would been missing something vital without the worship services, learning opportunities, and friendships St. Bart's provides not just for me, but for all."

Ann Hohenhaus came to St. Bart’s in 2001 at the invitation of Jamie Martin (Curry) after a wonderful St. Bart’s summer camp experience for her son.  She has taught Sunday School at St. Bart’s in addition to working on the Parish Life Project.  Ann is a veterinarian,  specializing in oncology and internal medicine of companion animals at The Animal Medical Center on the Upper East Side.

"I believe at the heart of St. Bart's is a mission to bring God's kingdom on earth through word and action. My pledge to the Stewardship Campaign is part of my commitment to serve God through that endeavor."

Dulcie Mapondera is currently a lawyer with the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund in New York, and has served the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland (1996 – 2005) and Khartoum, Sudan (2005-2007). Dulcie has been attending St. Bart’s since moving to New York in October 2007. She has been involved in the Parish Life Project, the 2010 and 2011 Stewardship Campaigns, the recent fundraising effort for Mpawa Village, Malawi, and is a lay reader.

Peter Sullivan"In this crazy world, we all need a spiritual home, a place where we can be part of something larger than ourselves. St. Bart's is that home for me and my family. I am proud to be a steward of St. Bart's. It is only through dedicated stewardship that we maintain St. Bart's now and for the generations to come as a place of welcome, peace and refuge."

Peter Sullivan is a partner at the international law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP where he practices antitrust law. Peter has been with the firm for over 30 years in both New York and Los Angeles. With his wife Mary, Peter has been attending St. Bart's since 2007. They have twin daughters who also live in New York. Peter currently serves on the Vestry and is a member of the Building Committee which oversees the preservation of St. Bart's. He served as a co-Chair of the Stewardship Committee in 2008 and 2009. Peter is currently a co-Chair of the Mosaic Society (since 2008).

SWJ - S. Wade Jones"Sharing my ‘time, talent, and treasure’ with St. Bart’s and its people gives me a sense of fulfillment that I do not find elsewhere. That fulfillment is the knowledge that I am enriching and helping to sustain and grow the unique and truly sacred work of St. Bart’s in New York and the wider world.”

Susannah Wade has been a member at St. Bart’s since 2004 when she moved to New York. Having grown up in a large, vibrant, urban parish, she identified strongly with St. Bart’s, in all its strengths and wonders as well as its challenges. Susannah led the 20s/30s group for a number of years and participated in the Parish Life Project. She has also been involved with the Stewardship Campaign since joining St. Bart’s and has taught Sunday School. Professionally, Susannah is a residential real estate broker with Brown Harris Stevens.
