If you'd like to include St. Bart's in your will or testamentary trust, you have two options:
- Making a gift of a specific amount of money.
- Designating a percentage of the residuary of your estate, after your family and other loved ones have been provided for.
To bequeath a specific sum, your will might include language such as:
"I give and bequeath to the Rector, Church Wardens and Vestry of St. Bartholomew's Church in the City of New York the sum of $_______."
If you decide to make a gift of a portion or percentage of your estate, your will might include wording such as:
"I give, devise and bequeath to the Rector, Church Wardens and Vestry of St. Bartholomew's Church in the City of New York ___% of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate."
Although most gifts are in the form of cash or marketable securities, bequests of tangible assets such as residential real estate are also welcome, subject to the gift acceptance policies of St. Bartholomew's Church.
