Fellowship Groups

Fellowship Groups for Spiritual Enrichment and Community Formation

St. Bart’s @ Home

St. Bart’s @ Home is a growing number of structured small groups which meet regularly in the homes of parishioners for bible study, prayer and fellowship. These groups meet weekly or biweekly at different times of the week throughout the city and in the suburbs.

If you'd like to learn more about becoming a host (one who makes their home the site of a new group) or a leader (one who facilitates bible study and discussion), email Buddy Stallings. Hosts and leaders are commissioned for this ministry after a mutual discernment meeting with the clergy.

Lesbian & Gay Fellowship

The Fellowship meets once a month early Sunday afternoons for forums with guest speakers on spiritually enriching and socially relevant topics. In addition on most Sundays members gather for brunch at a nearby bistro. There are social events from time to time during the year. The group's activities are open to all interested members and visitors to the church. The group welcomes all LGBTQ persons from any faith background.  For more information cllick here.

St. Bart's Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays

Hundreds of straight parishioners at St. Bart's have gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender children or other family members, but most of them are invisible to the church. Now they are getting to know each other. On the third Sunday of every month after the 11 a.m. service, families share experiences within the context of their faith, and explore ways to serve the wider church in the midst of the ongoing controversy over homosexuality.

20's/30's Group

This group brings together young adults for fellowship and spiritual formation through social activities, study groups, and community service. The group fosters a greater connection with the wider St. Bart's family by encouraging participation in many areas at St. Bart's, from stewardship and organizing events to ushering, acolyting and teaching Sunday School. Monthly Sunday brunches are among the many ways to connect with this group. Email group2030@stbarts.org to be added to the weekly events newsletter.

Tweenies

Age is a state of mind, it is said. Feel "too old" for 20's/30's or "too young" for 40's/50's? Tweenies, might be for you. Enjoy fellowship and togetherness in service to the wider community.

BOOMERS PLUS (40´s/50´s+) Group

The Boomers Plus Group strives to foster community among those in their 40's and above through social activities, study groups and spiritual growth. Join this group for monthly brunches as well as cultural outings to art exhibitions, plays, concerts and movies. We welcome new members. More here.

Guild of St. Ives—Legal Professionals Group

All who are interested in exploring the intersection of the law and religion are welcome to this group, which works to promote fellowship among legal colleagues by delving into rich and challenging discussions. Perhaps more relevant than ever, the group grapples with the delicate relationship between law and religion in our society, and also serves as a resource for the parish in understanding our legal and ethical responsibilities as a church community.

Garden Committee

A committee of volunteer green thumbs tends the gardens on Park Avenue in front of the church.

To connect with any of the fellowship groups above, contact the Rev. Buddy Stallings at 212-378-0215 or email him. Also you may inquire at St. Bart’s Central, 212-378-0222.
