The Rev. Edward M. Sunderland, LCSW
DIRECTOR OF CROSSROADS COMMUNITY SERVICES, INC.
The Rev. Edward Sunderland is both a priest and a social worker. Edward is thrilled to combine parish ministry with social work in the context of this parish with its long commitment to social justice.
A native of Pennsylvania, he graduated from Grove City College, and attended Seabury-Western Theological Seminary. He also completed an MSW degree at Arizona State University.
Edward has worked as a social worker and as a priest he has served as a University Chaplain in Spanish language congregations in Los Angeles, Phoenix, and New York. As a social worker he has specialized in Medical Social Work, Palliative Care and Homelessness.
In 1998 he came to New York, fell in love with the city and never left. At St. Bart’s he works with the many volunteers who staff our shelter, breakfast and food pantry programs.
