That All May Worship: Outreach to Persons with Disabilities
Entry Accessibility to the Church, Chapel, and Community House
Wheelchair access is available through the entrance located on the corner of 51st Street and Park Avenue via the ramp in the Cheatham Garden.
Ushers at the entrance to the church during services are available to assist all guests. Travel through the church for elevators that provide access to all floors of the Community House.
Wheelchair Seating
Space for wheelchair seating is available at the front of the church near the south and north transepts. This area may be found by proceeding forward along either of the side aisles of the church and then through the arched doorway. Wheelchair seating is available behind the last pew of the section directly through this archway. Ushers are available direct you to these areas.
Access to the Chancel for Communion
St. Bart’s was originally designed with built-in ramps up to the chancel level. Through the doorways on either side of the chancel (just to the right of the pulpit and to the left of the lectern) are doorways leading up side aisles. Parishioners on foot exit down these ramps after taking communion. Wheelchairs may follow the same route in the opposite direction to enter the chancel to take communion.
Large Print Bulletins
Large print bulletins for the 11 a.m. Sunday service are available at St. Bart’s Central, located just inside the Park Avenue church lobby.
Assisted Listening Devices
Assisted Listening Devices are available for people with hearing impairments at St. Bart’s Central in the Park Avenue narthex (lobby). A credit card or driver’s license is required as a security deposit for headsets.
Restrooms
Restrooms are available on the church level. They are located at each end of the Park Avenue narthex (lobby) and at the entry way to the Great Hall from the Terrace at Park and 50th Street. Wheelchair access is available in the restroom at the south end of the narthex and at the entry way to the Great Hall.
Water Fountain
A water fountain is located across from the elevators on the first floor of the Community House, on the same level as the church.
